PHANTASY - EASY
After
playing for you at the Liquid Room alongside UK Apache,
I realised what I had been missing all those years
you never booked me. But now I've been I want to
come back again soon. An absolute great night, in
a great club, with great vibes, with great people
and most importantly a great crowd. UK Apache and
myself loved it up there and have been telling everyone
about how good the scene is up there. The sound system
was heavy and the vibes were great. Plus one real
important thing. I met some really good people up
there who I have kept in contact with and will do
in the future. Everyone who was there had a wiked
night and for those that never made it, you really
missed out. Looking forward to getting up there again
to drop some dubz on the Scottish massive. Your are
doing a great job representing D&B in Scotland
and with the support I see from the people in Scotland,
long may it continue. You have been representing
the music for many years now north of the border
and the scene needs people like you that will keep
it going even when things get a bit tough for everyone.
Just remember one thing to all those out there. Everyone
must stick together and support each other and they
will all see the scene grow and they will all see
the benefits and things they can achieve. Big up
all crew. |

DJ Kid is a man of my own heart, he loves to have a good party

APHRODITE – URBAN
TAKEOVER
DJ Kid is a bloke that does loads of great things for the D&B
scene in Scotland. Played for him a few times and its always been
great. His only downfall is that he supports a dodgy football team
that hasn't won a bean since 1932. On that note, when are you going
to book me again? |

DJ Kid has been at the very heart of Drum & Bass since day

and representing around the world. Edinburgh's d&b soldier. |
 |
ZINC – BINGO
I'm in a lucky position where I fly all round the world and meet
DJs and promoters every week. Some of them come and go, then
there are a few people that are always there, always working.
Kid is one of the latter, a cornerstone for the Drum and Bass
scene in Scotland, and an important part of the scene as a
whole. He's been the top Scottish DNB DJ for as long as I can
remember, and will no doubt continue to remain at the top. |

STEVENS - KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE
DJ Kid’s devotion to promoting
the Scottish Drum & Dass scene and Drum & Bass
in general is legendary. Truly a pivotal figure in
shaping the scene north of the border. In march 2005
he was our covermount star with a mix cd of all his
labels music. Maximum props from the Knowledge team. |

DOC
SCOTT - 31
Ok, so we all know Kid is the man
in Scotland and has been since the scene set up camp
north of the border. But what’s most important
to know is that he’s been there through thick
and thin, through popular times within our scene
and when tastes have changed up there and D&B
wasn't as popular. A true warrior who loves Drum & Bass! |
 |
FLIGHT
- 1 XTRA
DJ Kid has been at the forefront
and running things north of the border for as long
as anyone can remember, he is also credited with
being the first person to invite me up to Scotland

RAY
KEITH – DREAD
DJ Kid is a long time business associate and personal friend of
mine. His dedication to the scene in Scotland and his club night
Manga are hard to rival. Collaborating with G Mac they are without
doubt the strongest team in Scotland. They have been on the scene
for years and there legendary Manga raves are always a pleasure
to play at as well as the newer Jungle Magik nights. Renowned for
his rolling jungle mash up style, Kid demonstrates his exemplary
DJ skills each and every time I am in Edinburgh. Big up Kid it’s
a pleasure working with you. |

RECORDS
DJ Kid the bad man running beats both new and old for years, representing
the Scottish side of drum and bass. Keep it real bro cause you
no your the real deal. |
 |
TOBIE
TERA – NU URBAN MUSIC
DJ Kid is easily the biggest pain in the arse out of all the label
owners I deal with. I have been trying to palm him off to someone
else in the office but unfortunately Kid's reputation proceeds
him and no one else will deal with him. I can honestly say that
my job and life would be much, much easier if I had never crossed
paths with this mad psychotic Scotsman. Were it not for the fact
that Kid has constantly represented, not just the Scottish scene,
but the Drum & Bass scene as whole I would have washed my hands
of him years ago. A bad boy DJ, a true renegade and a friend. Kid
- I salute you! |
 |
PROBE – KOOL
FM
Since his time on Kool Fm many moons ago, DJ Kid has always stayed
true 2 D&B never falling off when times are hard. From the
early jungle days too now Kid has kept it real up there in Scotland.
I personally think Kid doesn’t like Drum and Bass, he loves
it! |

DJ Kid and the Manga night have been names we have been familiar
with for nearly a decade, being the initial crucial cogs in the
Scottish Drum & Bass scene all the way through to the present

SUBTITLES
First heard of DJ Kid on a tape which accidently made its way to
Norway in 1992. I loved that tape, and little were I to know that
about 8 years later I was to rubbing shoulders with him at Manga!
A true cornerstone of the Scottish Drum & Bass scene, a good
friend, and above all a great DJ. |
 |
PATIFE
- BRAZIL
What can I say about DJ Kid man.
Big time music lover I would say to start and pioneer
in Scotland inna the D&B Bizinizz. Heard about
him first around 1995 when a friend of mine came
to Brazil and brought with him some magazines and
Kid was in them. Later in the future I was sharing
the Dj box with him. Nuff Respect and keep running
the show. Respect from Brazil. |

DARRISON - THE FUGITIVE
Well
what can I say
bout DJ Kid?
I first met him several years ago back when
I was still called Ragga. D. I've always
remembered him as having a great sense of
humour, and a drive for being very enthusiastic
about his Dj'ing and love for the music.
I've performed alongside the Kidsta at Manga
in Edinburgh, and also in Glasgow on the
boat party, which was both fun and groundbreaking.
I remember one particular party with me and
J J Frost in Edinburgh, when we got
extremely hammered, and I was very ill on
the way back home to Brighton the next day.
Kid likes to let his hair down but is serious
about his work, hence the pioneering he has
done across Scotland and uk. I even bumped
into him in New York City of all places.
I will continue to support DJ Kid
in the future, and collaborate on further
projects and parties

BRIAN
BELLE FORTUNE -
Author All Crews
I first met DJ Kid back in '95 at One Nation
in Aldershot. He'd driven all the way down from
Edinburgh! He'd travelled far and wide on a regular
basis in the cause of Jungle Drum & Bass.
I've mentioned him in both editions of my book All
Crews. What strikes me the most, then and now,
is that DJ Kid is a true soldier. I have to salute
him for his contribution to our music, hosting
two wicked club nights in Edinburgh and running
his label Restless Natives Records. I listened
to a few of DJ Kid's mixes when I was writing
All Crews. One of my favourites was Summertime Selection
Part 1. The energy of his tunes and mixes helped
my words just flow. I'm embarrassed to say how
many times I'd just keep rewinding his music.
I'm gutted that I've since lost that CD. Keep
up the hard work Kid. |
