I remember once when I played in Germany, someone came up to me after my set and said they really liked how I would take it down, then back up, varying the styles. This is a good description of where I’m at as a drum & bass DJ.

Since my involvement in the music from the early days, I have always played tunes from across the board, for the simple reason that I wanted to educate people about the music I love and keep things interesting by not sticking to only one vibe.

The support I’ve had from a large majority of the scene’s record labels has allowed me to be as versatile as possible whilst giving the people on the dance floor a taste of what is fresh at that moment in time.

I have no pre-conceived ideas of what I’m going to do when I get on the turntables, other than to try my best to make the people who have paid in have a great time! I’ve come under criticism at times for playing what people might deem ‘commercial’ by way of bootlegs, but because my roots are set heavily in Hip Hop and I have a great liking for Reggae and R&B, this is my way of bringing that vibe into what I do now. Not only that, bear in mind the fact I’m still trying, to this day, to entice more people into the music in Scotland by way of letting them hear things they recognise - even if it is a Beyonce vocal.

I’ve never been pigeonholed in all the years I’ve been involved in the scene, and I’ll continue to do my best to excite as many people in the crowd as possible - that’s why I’m up behind those decks!

To anyone who says they aren’t feeling some of the tunes I play for whatever reason, I say put yourself in my position ten years ago when trying to introduce the all new breakbeat sound to Scotland - nobody liked ANY of the records I played, and they told me I had no future playing the style in Scotland! How would YOU look to prove those doubters wrong?

Oh how I’ve proved them wrong!

For those of you out there who have never had the opportunity to hear me play, check my audio archive where I post a fresh mix every two weeks alongside various recordings both live and from the studio.
